I teach a unique group of 3-to 5-year-olds. I asked my group of students a question at the end of a story time to draw connections to the character's concept of empathy. I asked, "what would happen if nobody knew how to be nice?"
One of my young philosophers' replied, "If everybody in the whole world was only mean, then all our hearts would be broken and it would make the whole Earth break into pieces and all the peoples would be gone."
My students' sense of empathy has truly shaped our classroom into a warm environment where curiosity grows. This particular group of kiddos absolutely love books, writing letters, and drawing every Marvel superhero.
My Project
We have 2 computers in our classroom that are in need of individual headphones so students can play literacy games on ABCmouse. The headphones will also be used for students to listen to read along stories. Headphones will be a great tool for students to block out external sound and focus on their specific learning experience.
A projector will be used to prompt children’s discussion about photographs from previous learning experiences.
We will also use the projector to explore videos as a research method for children’s inquiries.
Both headphones and a projector will help expose my Pre-K students to new technologies that will be used in kindergarten and beyond.
