Tabletop Map, Tabletop Communication Center and teaching books.
Teaching school is a dream come true for me. I absolutely love every aspect of educating children: discovery, learning, and development. As a first year teacher, my classroom is void of so many classroom supplies that would accentuate my students' education.
My students are a wonderful group of high energy and excited learners.
As fifth grade students, they will enjoy a year full of discovering everything about American history to packing their brains full of fractions, decimals, and real life experiences where math is needed. Utah classrooms are very large, and accommodating such a class is difficult if the necessary teaching tools are absent from the classroom.
My Project
To help boost my students' reading skills I am in need of various books from different genres as well as those that teach various grammar skills. I have also found that many students learn best through hands-on activities, and manipulatives. Another great asset to my classroom would be to have various learning centers that have activities that my students can use to boost their learning. I have a few gifted students that need an added challenge as well as below level students that could use an extra boost to their learning, which these books and various activities would accomplish.
In order to properly equip my classroom with the educational supplies that I so greatly need, it would take years to accomplish on my own.
Through this excellent opportunity that Donors Choose has offered, though, I will be able to educate my students comparable to teachers who have a fully stocked classroom.
