My Students

This is my first year teaching. I have a great group of kiddos and I am very excited for the school year. Many of my students are beginning school this year very low and are having a hard time even recognizing their name.

I want to instill early on in my students a love for reading because I know it will make all the difference in their learning!

They already love the reading center - I just need to make it more comfortable and accessible for them.

My Project

I am trying to create a classroom library that my students will not only love going to, but will choose to go there when given the choice.

A love for reading is something that can be developed in the earliest years of one's life.

By creating a comfortable, welcoming, classroom library I hope to help my students develop that love for books.

Reading is one of the best ways to develop language, vocabulary, and imagination among other things!

I am hoping by adding some comfort options as well as technology my students will want to go to the library more often!

Adding a listening center to the classroom library can make a huge difference in students vocabulary and desire to read. Headphones would help me add this option to my classroom library.
