This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students who don't have art supplies at home may only experience creating art at school. Funding for the arts is very limited yet many students aren't exposed to art at home. Many children will lead careers into digital media and fine arts in movie and game producing, advertising, and design. I want to give my students the opportunity to learn new painting techniques. As a new teacher in a new district, I am not supplied with art materials for the students. Students have only been able to create with construction paper and colored pencils this year. I am a talented artist and have so many skills and lessons to inspire our students to explore art. All I need is the watercolor materials for students to begin creating. We'll use the watercolor sets to create diagrams of the water cycle, paint portraits of European and Spanosh explorers, Mothers Day cards, and to explain mixtures and solutions in science. Please help support the arts in education and give my students to experiences they deserve.
