Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing. My school district is urban and very high poverty, and most of my students come from broken homes, shelters, and foster care. The students in my school are 100% free breakfast and lunch. Most of them have experienced trauma at least once in their young lives. Despite their setbacks, my students come to school each and every day ready to learn with a smile. They come to school and give everything they have to their lessons no matter what is going on at home. They work very hard, and they truly deserve the best.

My students are currently in a setting to address their social and emotional needs.

We have a great community within our classroom. Our school is in a large city where families are in need of extra opportunities!

My Project

My students are excited to get another table for guided reading and math instruction! Due to the growing size of my classroom, the third table I have is too small for everyone to comfortably fit around and spread out their books and papers.

Fidget tools are a lifesaver, especially during these winter months!

My students enjoy using sensory tools to help them when they need to keep their hands occupied. These fidget gadgets are also helpful when they are upset and need something to focus on.

Finally, sticky notes and pencils are needed on a daily basis. It's as if the pencils disappear like socks in a washing machine! You can never have enough.
