This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This next school year, we will be covering an all new set of TEKS for science, which is how the state tells us what we have to teach for the year. I have taught 8th grade science for 3 years and have not needed the cell models and microscope slides.

I am really excited about our new standards because I believe that they build each year instead of skipping concepts in the 7th grade year and picking them back up the 8th grade year!

Now we will be building on these concepts every year. It makes so much more sense to me. The only thing is I do not have all the supplies and resources to be an effective but exciting teacher for all of the concepts!
