My Project
DMS is a sixth through eighth grade school with approximately 600 students. We largely serve underrepresented communities. 98% of our students qualify for free or reduced price lunch, and many are facing homelessness. We have a racial minority enrollment rate of 74%, with Hispanic students making up the greatest portion of that. DMS is serving this community in every way that we can with multiple programs such as GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) and AVID (a college readiness program) as well as with self-contained classes for students with intellectual and/or emotional disabilities.
Many of our students count on the school to provide them with basic necessities, including shoes.
Many of our students only own one pair of shoes, and they're heavily damaged. Please consider giving our students the new shoes that they desperately need.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
