This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach Math I at a high school in an area where 80% or more of the students receive free lunch and are considered economically disadvantaged. My students struggle to have the materials needed to be successful in the classroom. They are eager to learn they just need the right materials. Given the right tools their learning will be elevated to new heights. I want to see they work to their full potential, but in order to do that they are going to need the correct materials.

My Project

We need paper, felt tip pens, a desk organizer, an Automatic Heavy Duty Electric Stapler and Swingline 3 Hole Punch to better organize their Math 1 binders. These materials will be used to help my students and myself stayed organized in the new semester. Each student uses a binder to that has all notes and classwork in order by date. By having a better hole punch and stapler I can make sure everything is ready to go for them.

My students got off to a rocky start this first semester with their organizational skills, but they are eager to get better.

So with the addition to the classroom of more supplies we will all be able to be more organized. I want to try everything to help my students be their best!!
