Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school will be celebrating our 87th anniversary this year. One of our principals would say that we were a hidden gem in our city. We have a small and wonderful community which makes our school awesome. We start the day by offering free breakfast in the classroom. This ensures all the students are ready to learn. Most of our students benefit from the free or reduced-price lunch program. I am privileged to be teaching at this school for over 20 years.
My Project
My students need new chairs for the classroom. I would like to add two rolling chairs for the calendar leaders which will add flexible moving for all the activities. I would like to add a red authors chair to our classroom. I want every child to feel special while they are sharing their stories to the whole class. I would love to add some stuffed animal chairs to our silent reading center. Every student needs a stuffed animal to share a good book with.
I believe these items would be a great addition to our classroom.
I want to let the children know that learning can be fun. I want to create lifelong learners and maybe help form some great future teachers.
