The majority of my Pre-kindergarten children live in Greenpoint, Brooklyn! We are a Blue Ribbon Title 1 School! Our students come to school every day eager to learn, and have a very unique love for learning. They enjoy listening to read aloud books, and exploring with a variety of hands on materials. “What new materials will we be using today , Mrs. Laker?” This is a question that is asked daily of my students. I want to give my students everything I can in order for them to succeed and have a love for learning!
My Project
I have been working at my school for 18 years now! The furniture in my classroom has been around longer than 18 years! Our tables and chairs are beginning to splinter, and I do not want my children getting hurt! New tables, chairs, and a writing center will help tremendously in our room. The desks will be a bit larger than the ones we currently are using now! These new desks will give my students more room to explore materials, write, color, and use their science materials on comfortably. Could you please find it in your hearts to help us out. We would be forever grateful!
