This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Chicago Public School located in the Bucktown area of Chicago. The school consists of 950 students and serves students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade.

My physical education classroom is a high energy environment that focuses on teaching critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity through sport and physical fitness.

My students are in grades k-5. A majority of them come from underprivileged neighborhoods with high rates of poverty. Over 90% of our students come from low-income families. We are a Title I school.

My Project

My students need new and safer scooters to use for physical education class. The scooters my students need are the ClassPlus SST Scooter. These scooters will benefit all students at our school. Student use the scooters for activities such as scooter soccer and scooter basketball and various tag and other games in physical education class. Scooters are great tool for building leg and core strength.

Our current scooters are an older model and the wheels do not spin as well anymore.

In addition, these new scooters should prevent students from tipping over while riding thus reducing the injuries caused by riding the scooters.
