My Students
Pueblo Piano is Pueblo High School's piano and theory program. Pueblo High, with a population that is 96 percent Latino in South Tucson, supports a community that has been historically underserved. Pueblo Piano is one of only two class piano offerings in Tucson's public school systems. We offer students the opportunity to reach their full potential by playing piano and composing music. Pueblo High first offered piano classes in 2010, and now up to 135 students may study piano throughout their four-years in high school!
My Project
Many of the Yamaha YPG-535 keyboards in our school's piano lab are now 8 1/2 years old and have been played by more than 110 students every year. Many have defects with volume control and malfunctioning user screens. To keep our piano lab running at optimal efficiency, older, defective keyboards must be replaced. With these, students will be able to practice and improve their skills without the distractions of volume dropouts in one of their headset channels.
Piano is the best instrument for learning music theory.
With newer keyboards, students will set a solid foundation for their future musical growth! Help us maintain this rare course offering in Tucson.
