My Students
My class is so much fun this year! They are a great mix of kids. Some are athletic and love playing baseball, football, gymnastics, and dance. Others are so creative and love figuring out how things work and using their imagination.
One thing they all have in common is that they love to read! They love when it's time to take out books or get online and read.
My Project
After 12 years of teaching my library needs to be updated! My students love to read and nothing is more frustrating to them when they finish a book and I don't have another one like it! By getting some completed series of books they will be able to read more.
Many of these books are branches books and graphic novels which are perfect for 3rd grade.
They are a good segway into longer chapter books and are engaging to all different readers. The same goes with graphic novels. As long as they are reading and thinking about what they are reading, that is a teacher and student win!
I hope by giving them more variety and options that they will have even more to read and be excited about.
