My Project

This past year, we introduced our first self-selected text unit. It gave students a chance to choose what novel they read and interacted with. It was a huge success. We saw tons of engagement, and students who never picked up a book were finishing 200+ page novels.

It is always a struggle to find reading material for struggling readers that is within their interests and experiences.

These graphic novels are classics, reimagined as graphic novels. They are shorter, with milder vocabulary, without losing the rigor and excitement of the originals.
