This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students walk into school with beautiful smiles and are eager to learn. I want to provide them with the best tools possible to be successful. My school is a dual-language elementary school with a focus on nurturing bilingual, bi-literate and multicultural children.

Many of the students come from very low-income homes, one-parent households, and it is unbelievable the hurdles they have been able to overcome.

With your support, these students will grow up to be bilingual, responsible, and caring community leaders.

My Project

The days of sitting at a wooden desk with a very uncomfortable chair are long gone, right? Unfortunately, the desks have become tables and the chairs are now made of plastic. These tables restrict my students from being able to move their bodies and collaborate in different ways.

With access to these stools, my students could feel less restricted, comfortable, and able to focus more while collaborating with peers.

These stools can be used individually or pushed together to create benches, surfaces for small group work and storytime activities. Finding materials that are the perfect size for my small students can be difficult.

But these stools are not only the perfect size, but they are also the perfect material because we can wipe them clean at the end of the day. This will reduce the number of germs we are spreading and bugs, like lice, from staying in our classroom. They will also be able to work on building stronger core muscles that will serve to help keep their bodies healthy.
