New Books for Struggling Readers

Help me give my students new books and headphones so they can gain a love for learning and improve their reading and comprehension skills.

My Students

I am the teacher to 27 resilient third grade students, the group of students that experienced remote learning during the second half of their 1st grade year. My students come from a variety of homes with varying amounts of resources and books available.

My Project

My third grade students were in first grade when COVID first disrupted learning and sent students into remote school. Many of my students are still struggling to catch up in their literacy skills. I am a first year teacher working to grow my library and I believe a new variety of books will help my students find a love for reading and help increase their literacy skills.

I am also hoping to get more headphones for my students.

Most of the headphones we have in our classroom are broken and my students use them to work on oral reading comprehension, our i-ready program, and help support my struggling readers with audio books.
