This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a first year art teacher, I do not have many supplies of my own. 90% of our school is impoverished and will never get to experience art outside of school. School funding has been cut and the budget for art supplies cannot afford clay and materials for students to experience sculpting. Our students need to experience making 3D Art and sculptures can become lifelong keepsakes. I would like to have students create to support entrepreneurial skills. These clay creations will be used in a craft fair to raise funds for our art program to give these students the best experience we can offer. So many careers stem from art and design and I hope that with these supplies, we can encourage our studentst o be one creative thinkers with inspiring ideas for future design, engineering, and creation. The world needs artists so we must encourage the future to learn new skills.
