My students are fun-filled, energetic, and love learning. They come in ready to learn and are so full of excitement to see what the day will bring. We live in Southern Maine, and our students come from a variety of backgrounds and socioeconomic backgrounds.
My students are avid readers who love to explore new worlds through pictures and print.
There is no such thing as a non-reader, only those who haven't found "their" book yet. Every student is different and so are their interests. Sometimes all it takes is finding that book that connects with a student's heart and passions.
Every year thousands of new high-quality books get released, and I want my students to be able to explore these new worlds. I want my students to be able to go to my library and find updated informational books, nonfiction, and newly released fiction stories.
My Project
The new bean bags chairs will replace my old, flat blue ones! Students during centers will be able to find new books or great classics that need to be replaced. These new books will help my students find books from authors they love or help them find new authors.
I am excited to get new, updated books and to finally have comfy spots to support their reading.
With these new items, students will have more access to quality books. The comfy seats will give those who need a new space to focus a place where they can relax and focus.
