My Project

The students in this room that would benefit from your decision to be a donor are unique K-1 students with developmental disabilities such as autism, SLI , and OHI. Many of the students are non-verbal or pre-verbal and have many social and behavioral needs.

This is my first year in the classroom, and the classroom is a brand-new program within the district.

I'm building a library of materials from the ground up to support the growth of my students in many areas.

Many of the materials for these students require lamination and Velcro such as schedules to understand the day and visuals to help them understand expectations and routines in the room. These materials as well as other appropriate materials can be purchased utilizing the Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) gift card.

Any toys included in this list will be used to teach my students social skills and basic play skills such as imitation (building sets), turn-taking (pull-back cars), and imaginative play (dress up clothes, play food). The toys will also be used to work on developing language.

The current classroom rug we have is not appropriate for the student population of the classroom. The rug requested will allow students to follow routines by being directed to sit at a color or shape that they will understand.

These materials will help my students work on early literacy, math and social skills and continue to grow! Thanks for considering this program—the students need these materials badly.
