Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a Title I school with a huge population of free and reduced lunch. My students live in a neighborhood considered to be a low income community, but this has not affected their eagerness and enthusiasm to learn. They are all high achievers and are always ready for a new challenge. Their determination and love for learning is seen in each of my students. My classroom is full of students who want to read and are looking for new books to take them to new places.

My Project

The students will use the Bookcase Storage Shelves and Craft Cabinet to organize the leveled classroom library. An organized library will allow them to pick books easily and give them more time to be active readers. It will also allow them to move around the classroom without any distractions because all the books will be in one place in the classroom. The students will also have more room to read comfortably throughout the classroom since the shelves will sit against the wall. The shelves will help create a classroom library where students can locate books quicker and easier. This will allow them more time to enjoy the Insects and Bugs A-Z books.

With an organized library, the students will hopefully, spend more time reading and less time looking for books.

Also, by having the books nicely organized I am able to send a message that books are important and reading is important. Books should be taken care of and belong in a organizational unit that will keep them in good condition. Please help make reading more accessible for my students!
