Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Neurodiversity is "the idea that people experience and interact with the world around them in many different ways; there is no one 'right' way of thinking, learning, and behaving, and differences are not viewed as deficits," according to Harvard Health.
The books I have added to this collection represent characters who experience either themselves, family, or friends with Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Dysgraphia, Dyslexia, OCD, and Sensory Processing Disorder.
All are submissions for the Bookstagang Awards Best of for 2023!
I would love to have the opportunity to add this carefully curated collection of inclusive books to my classroom library for both our whole group reading lessons and for students to practice reading independently. My students will love reading books where some may notice similarities in people they know personally, or even find supportive representation of themselves.
