I have 47 of the most adorable 9-10 year olds of all time! My students are in an immersion program and fluently speak both English and Chinese. Many of them even speak up to three languages.
My kids are creative, brilliant, driven hard workers.
As a first year teacher I am constantly looking for ways to improve myself to meet their varying needs. Due to the varying levels of readiness, our classroom has a focus on differentiation. This allows each student the opportunity to reach their personal best.
My Project
I am a brand new teacher and am hoping to start literature circles in my classroom.
The students in my classroom love to read, and these books would continue to foster that love.
Using the books provided, students will be working on many of the vital skills related to English Language Arts. These skills include comprehension, fluency, retell quality, and academic vocabulary.
I believe these literature circles will allow my students to look at literature in a new way. Not only will they be able to share their personal thoughts on a story, but they will be able to hear from the perspective of their classmates as well.
Please help me bring literature circles to my classroom and my adorable 4th Graders!
