My classroom is full of energetic kindergartners who come to school every day ready to learn. They love projects of all sorts from art, to math and science, and gardening. They are enjoying their newly developed skills in reading and writing and are anxious to do more.
The range in my classroom is quite diverse academically, as well as economically, but we have all come together as a united community of learners.
It is wonderful how supportive and kind they are to each other.
Kindergarten need to drink pretend coffee, while cooking plastic eggs for their unexpected grandparents who surprising look like a couple of kindergartners! Kindergartners love to pretend, role play, chit chat and make their teacher a salad of plastic lettuce. Our kitchen has seen better days Approximately 500 kids have cooked and washed dishes in this 25 year old kitchen. Cupboards no longer stay closed, and the refrigerator has an unusual odor. Who knew plastic food could spoil! We don't need granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, or subway tiles, but rather a clean hardwood set including stove, refrigerator, sink and cupboard.
