I am lucky because I teach kindergarten. I spend my day with wonderfully free and expressive children. A good kindergarten class gives the students the opportunity to learn through many hands-on modalities and the most important is art. My school has a broad diversity of children bringing many levels of skills and experiences to the classroom, however through thoughtful art projects, tied to the curriculum, all children can be successful. This is especially important for my English language learners, the kids who didn't have preschool experience or whose academic skills are still developing.
