My students need a multifunction printer to assist them with preparing images for drawing, painting, and design projects. A high yield toner cartridge will ensure that we are able to print for multiple semesters.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I think back to my time as a student and it was filled with high and lows, many of which were a result of environment rather than personal choice. Though it has been years since I was in their shoes, my students still face the same challenges.

Our classroom is a place where students are encouraged to find their voices through the creation of a body of original artwork.

Many of our students aspire to attend college, but are the first in their families to try and lack many of the study, research and organizational skills necessary to succeed.

Our school is located in southwest Texas and serves a largely Hispanic community. Many are first generation American citizens and come from working-class families. Our students keep us on our toes during the school day and it is so much fun watching them develop and grow as scholars throughout the school year!

My Project

Our classroom is home to 200+ students. We currently have to leave our room in order to print files, enlarge images, or duplicate things for our design projects.

Providing our students with a way to print and copy without leaving would improve classroom engagement, assist with time management, and increase their productivity.

A printer would also enable students to become familiar with technology that will be beneficial to them both as scholars and as artists. The laser jet prints and toner also enable us to work on image transfer projects which provide endless possibilities ranging from drawing to watercolor painting to high-fire ceramics!
