Help me give my students a quality virtual education with a new MacBook Pro. Due to Covid-19 school closures, it is even more vital to have current technology to implement distance learning.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come to school with varying needs. We are a Title I school where the majority of students come from low-income families thus qualifying for free or reduced meals. My students have high academic needs as English Language Learners as well as varying degrees of social-emotional needs.
For many of my students, the school was a place of structure and nurture but now I must provide this virtually.
My district and the school have been hard at work to provide technology in the hands of students in their homes now due to school closures. With an updated MacBook laptop, I will be able to better assist my students' remote learning. It is important for me to provide quality education under the circumstances and a sense of continuity and personal connection through video conferencing.
My Project
"Distance learning" and "virtual classroom" have quickly become part of our daily vocabulary due to the Stay at Home mandate in my state. It has been a challenge, to say the least, being catapulted into the digital world of teaching and learning. As an elementary educator, I am grappling with learning and teaching technology simultaneously with my students.
An up-to-date MacBook will allow me to teach virtually, hold virtual meetings, and provide engaging and effective curriculum.
A larger screen and updated software will be fewer obstacles to support distance learning. It will support my professional development as I need to toggle between screens during live and asynchronous webinars. I will be able to connect with my students academically and also provide socioemotional support as I meet with them virtually "face to face". A better, reliable laptop will allow me to continue to engage with my students more effectively and help them focus on positive things like school and connecting with their teacher and friends online.
