Help me give my students access to lined sticky notes, color coded labels, color file folders, pencils, sharpies, laminating sheets, velcro and post it sticky white boards. Students will be able to enhance their learning in Math.
My school is a Title I school that sits in the heart of Washington, DC. I have a group of 67 students who are fun-loving, eager-to-learn new things, excited about school and love to read. My classroom would be considered a melting pot of cultural heritage and social needs. Many of my students have been in the U.S. for less than 2 years. They inspire me every day.
To meet their needs, we incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, least restrictive environments and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
My Project
In a classroom full of active learners, we continuously use consumable resources. When students are working in small groups, using sticky notes with lines, pencils, and markers will help them share their ideas and increases cooperative learning for variety of learners. Post it chart paper can allow students to participate in gallery walks. Station work will really benefit from laminated and activities with velcro to enhance engagement and allows easy manipulation for the students. Specialized planning involves colored labels and manila folders, and will assist individualized instruction, as students are able to take accountability of their goals and practice individual tasks based on their needs.
