This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hi, please help me as I embark on the journey to become a Nationally Certified teacher in Social Studies (Adolescents 11-15, Middle School). My goal is to register ($75) and complete all 4 components ($475/component) this school year (2026-27). A total funding of $1,975 is needed to register for this.

This certification will strengthen my educator skills and open more opportunities to teach Middle School students of varying skill levels across the district, state, and country.

As I work in a Title 1 school with a majority of low-income students, reaching certification will increase my teaching skills inside the classroom. As noted on the National Board for Teaching Professional Standards, "There is a decade of research to support the impact that Board-certified teachers have on students. Students of Board-certified teachers learn more than their peers without Board-certified teachers. Studies have also found that the positive impact of having a Board-certified teacher is even greater for BiPOC and low-income students." As I reflect on my instructional practices, my goal is to become more effective for my students by adjusting lesson plans, designing more effective assessments, and differentiating activities based on student needs.
