This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a special group- Most come from low income families, many are first generation Americans or immigrants themselves, and all of them have special needs. In spite of these seemingly difficult barriers, they defy expectations and thrive in school. They're future mechanics, teachers, doctors, and lawyers, brimming with potential. DonorsChoose and its generous donors are important components of closing the equity gap to empower my students to reach their full potential.
My Project
National Board Certification is the most respected professional certification available in education and provides numerous benefits to teachers, students and schools. It was designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide. I am looking to certify in the area of Social Studies in order to provide the most effective instruction I can to my students.

Students learn more. A decade of research shows that students of Board-certified teachers learn more than their peers without Board-certified teachers. Teachers improve their practice. Board Certification allows teachers to hone their practice, showcase their talent in the classroom and demonstrate their dedication to their students and their profession.
