My Students

Our student enrollment consists mostly of English as a New Language Learners. These students are constantly facing day-to-day challenges such as learning a new language, adjusting to a new environment, forming new relationships inside and outside of the classroom, and developing skills and strategies on grade level. Their eagerness to learn and pursue their goals motivates me every single day. My job as an educator is to inspire my students not only academically but personally, too. Sharing enthusiasm of learning is a constant goal of mine. Every single day I walk into my classroom, my heart is filled with love and admiration for them all.

I have come to realize that while I strive to change the lives of my students, they end up changing mine.

My Project

Learning to analyze characters in literacy can be a difficult task, especially for New Language Learners. It is extremely helpful and enjoyable to study characters through books of interest. Unfortunately, our library is lacking these eye-catching texts. Our current books are worn out and out-of-date. With the help of adding these book sets, students will be able to befriend their favorite characters and develop the appropriate skills and strategies for our character analysis study. With these new book sets, I know my students will develop a love for reading. Every student deserves a good book; one they can get lost in!
