Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students are learning to use a laser machine by engraving and cutting their Canva-made designs. Students thus far, have laser engraved a few small items such as tag board. However, cutting and engraving wood is much more involved and a great way to introduce more complex production ideas and methods.

My students love the laser machines capabilities but supplies in our district are severely restricted.

Creating a keepsake for them to take home by year's end will hopefully inspire their creativity and passion for design.

Students will design and engrave a nameplate and plaque to commemorate their final Middle School - 8th Grade year.
