My Project

Our students are highly diverse and herald from countries all over the world. One thing most of them have in common is a love for basketball and soccer. There's nothing like being on a team to build bonds, expand your understanding about people of other cultures and race, and most importantly, to learn about yourself.

Since we're located in Minnesota, our library shelves are filled with old titles about hockey and skiing; unfortunately these sports are unaffordable for most of our urban teens, we need books on basketball and soccer to engage our readers.

I'm asking for your support to buy books to fill our sports section that will reflect our students and their passions about sports. With women's college basketball taking center stage in media, our student would love to read and be inspired by their heroes. Our students cannot get enough books on soccer, techniques, strategies, and the stories of the legends of the sport. Help me increase literacy and athleticism with some current books on the sports they play and love.
