My Project
I am a first year elementary school librarian. I have taken over a library that needs a major overhaul. Most of the collection is over 20 years old! The books are old and outdated to say the least. A majority of the choices are worn out and/or never checked out.
My students deserve books that reflect their faces, their cultures, and their communities! By donating to this project, I will be able to add books that are a mirror and give them stories they can relate to. I have chosen authors that will connect to the students at my school; Black authors, Muslim authors, Latinx authors. All these titles explore gender, identify, and race.
