This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These books will expand horizons for my students and offer them literature they have been missing out on. Due to budget cuts, skipped finance cycles, and other undisclosed reasons, our students have suffered with outdated material for too long. Some books are as old as 1985 with the newest being from 2009. The book I have selected is a brilliant book that will add to my students' knowledge and backgrounds. It will also add more importance to the books we currently have, even if they are outdated. With books such as The Scarlet Letter and The Crucible, I, Tituba: Black Witch of Salem will impact the understanding of the Salem Witch Trials and help students understand it from a black woman's perspective.

I want to take matters into my own hands and try to support my students with what they deserve, a beautiful and thought provoking book.

This project will reach our entire school as this book will be shared will all other English teachers, giving them the option to use it too.
