This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My team of 30, 4th and 5th graders are committed to keeping our school safe by being on the Safety Patrol! Each morning and afternoon my dedicated crew go out to three different corners around our school and help cross students and their families safely.

It’s been cold, windy and rainy but they still fulfill their commitment to our school.

I want to be able to reward and encourage them to keep up the work, to persevere even when it’s not fun. Giving them snacks and pencils, thanks them for their hard work and shows them I appreciate them. My students don’t all have ample food so they especially enjoy the treats!
