My Students

I am blessed to always have a great group of students. My students spend time with me and with another third-grade teacher. Between our two classes, we have several students who come from split family homes as well as students who are in foster care or no longer live with biological parents. All of my students are super sweet and want to do anything to please us. They work hard and try their best. Giving them the opportunity to have a place to express themselves is an important part of my day.

This year I have been lucky enough to have several students in my class with individual learning needs.

This has helped me become more creative and come up with additional resources.

They are a super active group of students. We are always having to be moving and changing positions to help keep our concentration.

Technology is a huge part of our day. These days, many kids spend a lot of time in front of a computer playing games. I think it is very important for students to learn to appreciate technology and learn from it.

My Project

These books will be used for many years with many students. Every year my students complete a biography research project. I always make sure and have the students use books that are on their level that they can really read and understand on their own. This year, I need different levels.

These books will give students the freedom to research about a person they are interested in on their own reading level.

This will allow students to be successful and not become frustrated. Students will read the book, take notes over what they are reading, and then create a project about the person they choose. These books would give students a boost in their self esteem too because the students will be able to complete the work without a lot of additional assistance.
