Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The piano is one of the most universal instruments, and certainly a powerful tool to introduce music basics to elementary level students. All grade students feel a genuine fascination for the instrument even before knowing how to play it. That becomes an issue when there is only one piano in the classroom and all the students want to have an opportunity to put their hands on it.

Having access to a keyboard shouldn't be an obstacle for those students willing to explore and enhance their creativity through learning piano.

Unfortunately, that is the reality in some classrooms like mine. Our school serves a sensitive area of Indianapolis, and most of the times our classrooms are the only scenario where our students are able to access resources like musical instruments. Their families can't afford purchasing instruments, or paying lessons, and this is why having a well equipped Music room becomes critical.
