My Students

I teach 7th grade highly accelerated Algebra and 8th grade highly accelerated Geometry. These students desire to learn.

With the pandemic leaving my middle school students with less instruction over the last year and a half, they are thriving for math.

Most of our students use an iPad daily in their classes. Technology is a must. About 65% of my school qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Most of our school's funding go to personnel, so updated technology that meets the needs of our students can be difficult to purchase or are becoming outdated.

My Project

Technology is essential in the classroom. I teach Algebra and Geometry and use my LCD Projector and Document Camera quite frequently. I have noticed they are both beginning to fade fast; images are discolored and sometimes blurry.

There are times where math just has to be done using paper and pencil.

Having both a new LCD Projector and Document Camera are essential in my classroom for students to learn math. Besides my demonstrating how to understand math concepts, I have students show the class how they solve specific math problems. They enjoy teaching each other and showing their work/projects. Unfortunately, there are times where the images have a yellow tone and are blurry because my current projector and document camera are getting too old to use. This makes it difficult for students to see notes, examples, and anything else presented to them.
