Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first graders love to read and learn about all different subjects. They are a diverse group of first graders with a wide range of reading levels from kindergarten to second grade. I have Armenian and Spanish speakers as well as English only students.

My students love read aloud time after lunch.

They look forward to hearing about Junie B. Jones' next adventure and the Magic Tree House. Whenever my students finish early they always ask if they can go to the library and look at books.

My Project

My classroom is in need of a library! My students love to read and we didn't get a classroom library this year. I would love to get more books for them to read on their off time. I also have library time as part of my small group rotations and my students are looking at old books that I found in my schools' basement. Since I was placed in my classroom later I was never ordered a new library like all of the other classrooms in my school so I've turned to DonorsChoose.org to help me get books in my classroom that my students will enjoy! Thank you!
