My Students

Imagine 27 pairs of eyes looking to you for guidance. You want nothing more than to open the doors to the magical land of all that education can bring, and lead all 27 students in with no turning back!

I have the best third graders!

Their beautiful smiles brighten everyday. The best part of their hearty laughter and sincere smiles is they stay so happy in spite of what many of them face outside of school. They may come to me from a variety of backgrounds, as our school serves a student population with 80% free and reduced lunch, but they are all deserving of a quality education and all that has to offer!

My Project

Some days my brain feels as though it will pop trying to find the best, most uplifting, engaging, exciting, and appropriate materials to teach the third grade standards. BrainPop was founded in 1999. It features an animated boy and robot who go on adventures through curriculum-based content that engages students, supports educators, and bolsters achievement. Mountain Math/Language are flexible teaching tools that would allow me flexibility in reviewing third grade standards. They can be used as a class activity, an individual activity, with partners, or in cooperative learning groups. Mountain Math and Mountain Language gives students the opportunity to communicate using math and language terminology, and increased mastery level. More instructional time can be devoted to teaching application skills and higher order thinking skills. Spellingcity and Mailbox Gold subscriptions would expand the resources available for wider variety of subject areas.

If I could have access to engaging materials without endless searching, my brain would no longer feel like it is about to pop! Learning would thrive!
