Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The athletes that I get to work with all come from unique backgrounds and have very different experiences that have shaped who they are. Some students come from very broken homes and have had a rough go of it, as they grew up.

The thing I am most proud about is the resiliency that my students show on a daily basis.

They constantly teach me things about overcoming obstacles and learning to see the positive in all situations.

I feel very lucky to interact with them on a daily basis and am thrilled for an opportunity like this to provide something special for them!

My Project

My water polo athletes are currently in their offseason and now is the time for strength training with heavy equipment. This type of training will help to increase muscle mass in the areas required for passing and shooting.

Weight-training equipment is essential to helping my athletes prepare for the upcoming competition season.

This time during the offseason is the perfect time to strength-train!

These weighted balls will be used to correct shooting motion in my athletes, while at the same time providing resistance weight to continue to strengthen the muscles used for shooting and passing. The material used to create these weighted balls makes them great for either indoor or outdoor conditions.
