My 3rd Graders are Breaking Out

My Students

Our class mission statement was written by my 3rd grade students at the beginning of the school year. My hope is that in reading it you get an idea of what is important to our classroom, our school, and our community!

"We, the LEADERS of our classroom, will challenge ourselves by making learning fun and exciting all year long.

Our classroom is a place where we are proactive by being safe, clean and neat. We will welcome our classmates every day by treating people the way they want to be treated. We are nice, respectful, and helpful to others. We are intelligent, amazing, and awesome leaders everywhere we go!"

Our school is home to a diverse group of learners. About more than 50% of the students receive free or reduced lunch and come from families where both parents are working one if not more than one job to stay afloat. School is often the most stable environment for many of our students. My mission is to provide just that for my kiddos each day!

My Project

Students always need more opportunities to learn team building, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. Often times these activities require additional supplies in order to make them successful.

Breakout Edu is an immersive learning game platform that will provide me with a kit and a plethora of resources and ideas to create different "escape rooms" in my class.

Breakout Edu will give my students a highly engaging experience and time to practice those skills!

My classroom is a place where students spend most of their day immersed in reading, writing, and math curriculum. They work really hard all day long so, having Breakout Edu as an alternative way to teach these skills will be a great way to "shake things up" for my students.
