Music to Their Ears

Help me give my students joy in art and music. All my students, even the ones that can't speak enjoy musical instruments, and getting their hands in sensory art activities/ file folder games.

My Students

I have twelve students with multiple disabilities. They all have their own unique personality. I have one student that will whisper his name so that you may call on him to answer a question. Another student who raises his hand to participate even though he can only say one word. Another student who will eat jelly sandwiches everyday of the week. A student who will shake hands with a puppet. My students can be a handful and have multiple sensory needs. However, they each have something that makes them stand out and warm your heart.

My Project

This project is focused on producing art and music. The aprons will ensure they have a shield against their uniforms when they do shaving cream/paint/sand activities. The laminating paper will make it possible for me to produce more skill based file folder activities. The pins will help to showcase any artifacts in the classroom.

Every morning, the students and I sing as part of our routine.

I am confident that they will love these instruments because they love anything that they can control and is loud. I think it's a wonderful way for them to get involved in the daily routine, and also gives them something to look forward to.
