Music Time With Mr. Cooper

Help me give my students weekly music lessons. All of the kindergarteners at my school will learn about music, songwriting, rhymes and rhythm. The students learn about SEL, citizenship, science, geography, history, math and more from the songs.

My Students

At our elementary school in California, 18 languages are spoken, 455 free breakfasts and lunches are provided every day, and the school’s culturally diverse and at-risk students may not always be getting the kind of enrichment they need.

My students love to come to school and learn through singing.

Many have very limited English, and most are English language learners (speaking another language at home), yet they sing in English. The students are having so much fun singing, they don't even realize they are learning!

My Project

All of the kindergartners at my school will learn about music, songwriting, rhymes and rhythms with this weekly music program. Mr. Cooper will see each class for 30 minutes each week to sing songs and play games.

The songs and props are a great way for my English language learners to learn English.

All of the students will learn social-emotional skills, good citizenship, science, geography, math and more while singing and having fun! In the song "Words to Live By," they will learn about sharing, helping people, and taking turns. Many students have said that Mr. Cooper Time is the best time of the week!
