Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

This membership will allow me to be a member of PMEA - Pennsylvania Music Educators Association. This membership will enable me to participate in virtual professional developments, that are actually relevant to me as a music teacher. Many times, I have to sit through meetings that don't apply to me, but these will be great to attend! PMEA has spent the past few years working very hard to ensure that their virtual programs are useful to educators.

The virtual seminars and conferences that I want to attend will help me bring great things to my classes, as a music teacher.

PMEA offers many different professional development opportunities for music educators. I am excited to learn more about growing elementary band programs and retaining kids in high school. They offer sessions on new music for band and chorus. PMEA offers sessions on instrument repair and maintenance. PMEA has also started offering sessions on digital music and digital ensembles which I think my students would really enjoy.
