Every morning sixteen beautiful, smiling faces walk into the classroom eager to learn. They are risk takers and the risk factors that have placed them in our Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) mean absolutely nothing to them. They are all second language learners that come from low income families.
I want to give them the best preschool experience that will set them up for success in all their future school years!
The whole child needs to be nurtured. Music and movement plays a huge roll in the brain development of preschoolers!
The 15 player rhythm set, cymbals, egg shakers, and rhythm sticks will help children create music and rhythm which activates different parts of the students' brains. Just like music, movement and rhythm exercises stimulate the brain, which reinforces language concepts as well.
Listening to music and playing music games, will help children use the various parts of their brains simultaneously.
Music and movement activities that include cross lateral movement are especially important to brain development. The wrist and ankle bells, as well as the hand bells, wrist ribbons, and scarves will encourage cross lateral movements which is important in strengthening brain connections.
