My Project

As my band continues to grow and develop, there are new items that we are in need of. These items are specifically for the percussion section to enhance the music our bands play. The bell stand will give more flexibility to set up. I have a nice set of concert bells, but no stand to set them on. Our current go to is a classroom desk which is a bit hard to fit into where we set up. An actual bell stand would make this instrument easier to move around and fit in the set up. The police whistle simply adds to the sound effects that different pieces of music call for. This year we are playing two songs that call for a police whistle.

The ride cymbal will add so much "flavor" to the pieces of music that we play.

We have had several songs call for ride cymbal over the last three years and we have improvised for each one of those songs on a crash cymbal, but the sound is muddy and not clean. A ride cymbal would be the perfect fit to enhance our sound especially when we play songs with a driving or rock beat.

I love my students and they love band. They love to see the outcome of their hard work. 99% of the students that I have taught started playing a musical instrument in my class. Everything that they learn happens in the classroom as the instruments stay at school in our current situation. It is so fun to share with parents and the community the learning that happens and the talents the students are able to share when we perform.
