Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are wonderful! They are full of energy and anxious to learn. They love hands on and challenging activities. They come to school everyday eager to see what we will be doing next. They are enthusiastic and very curious.
In our class we are striving to be balanced.
Our goal is to give time for school work, play and friendship.
Our school is in the heart of San Diego. We are a Title 1 school where all our students receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch. Being an International Baccalaureate school, our students develop strong academic, social and emotional characteristics.
My Project
By using music, rhythm and song, my students will experience a new and exciting way to learn. It is true that not all students learn in the same way. For example, some students need visuals and some students need hands on. Bringing music into the classroom will give another exciting way to learn. I will be able to use music across the curriculum. I will be able to teach math, phonological awareness, science, reading and writing conventions. It is almost endless what we can do. It will be exciting to have another modality to use in the classroom. All of my students will benefit from this new way of learning.
