My students need music! This keyboard and guitar, along with the headphones, will help the students express themselves musically and learn at the same time.
On any given day in my classroom, you will see students working in small groups, large groups, with partners and independently and one-on-one with a teacher or staff member. Needless to say, there is a LOT of energy! I like to call this energy "learners energy" as there is always learning going on. Even when they are having a fort party to celebrate earning all their marbles, the students are still learning through problem solving as they try to fit 24 students in different forts around the classroom. Fun and learning at the same time? You bet!
Every day starts with a high five, fist bump or hand shake in our classroom.
Why? Well, that is easy. It is all about starting each day on a positive note and welcoming everyone.
My Project
Music has been proven to help students in SO many different ways! Right now my students get to go to music class twice a week and they love it so much. As grateful I am that they get to do this, I want to be able to bring more music and creativity into my classroom to fully reap the benefits.
Research shows that students who study music are more likely to excel academically because it helps develop critical thinking skills, while also reducing anxiety and stress.
Additionally, music helps students regulate their emotions, increases on-task behavior, and enhances the way students process language and speech. Wow! Did you ever know how beneficial music could be?
If I could bring music into my classroom, it would be such a gift that I know they would love. On a personal level, music made a difference in my life, so I want to be able to do the same for my kiddos.
