My Students

We have a program full of amazing, dedicated, and thoughtful musicians. They are always taking leadership roles to help one another. Our musicians love volunteering to help with ensemble management and perform solos. They are always working for and often achieving their “star student” status by being excellent role models and attentive musicians in class. Our program consists of 18 Kindergarten-sixth grade classes of general music, third-grade recorder classes, and two full grade level (fifth and sixth grade) choirs each week.

My Project

A HEPA air filter would give our music classroom another mitigation strategy against COVID-19.

Our classroom does not have any windows that open so we are unable to provide extra ventilation via window access.

With the recent spike in cases across the country, and the cold weather preventing us from playing outdoors, the music classrooms are looking to add as many safety strategies as possible for our musicians. They have been provided instrument-specific PPE, we use social distancing and proper handwashing but a HEPA filter would help us have cleaner air in all classrooms while we work!
